Vintage Skyscraper Deco Modernist Glass Lamp c. 1935 RESTORED
Dating to the mid-1930’s, this unusual stepped glass lamp is a remarkable example of period modernist design. This lamp is quite substantial, with the glass base and shade being made of 1/4 thick glass. Note the textured interior of the shade which is visible when the lamp is powered on. This lamp has been restored and refurbished and is ready for contemporary use. It has been completely disassembled and all parts cleaned. The shade and base retain their original blue highlights. The original turn switched bulb socket has been retained and bulb contacts cleaned and polished. Wiring has been refurbished with new reproduction rayon covered power cord and appointed with new vintage style plug. This lamp utilizes a standard medium Edison base light bulb (not included). Approximate dimensions are as follows. Height to top of finial: 12-1/2. Glass shade: 7″ Bottom X 3-1/2″ Top X 4-1/2 Side. Glass Base: 4-3/4″ Bottom X 5-1/4″ High. The bottom edges of both shade and base are rough from manufacture and have some addition fleabite chips. Fain stress line on the top surface of the shade.
