1940s IDEALITE REVERSE PAINTED GLASS LAMP BASE RUBY RED VINTAGE ANTIQUE LIGHTING. Most likely by Idealite. Original socket, cord, and plug. You may want to replace the plug as there is no insulator. Used and does show wear. The inside is missing a few small spots of paint. No harp, as this would have originally used a clip on shade I believe.

We are offering a vintage Mid Century Modern hand painted ceramic lamp in the form of an extravagant African in dance costume. Lamp is in excellent condition, fully functional, ceramic has no chips, no cracks and no repairs have been done. We do not have the original lamp shade. Measures 39 3/8″ tall from the base to the top screw and 26 1/2″ from the base to the top of the man’s head. Base measures 10 1/4″ x 7″. Please study the photos as they are part of the description. This lamp is a hand painted watercolor Art Deco style one of a kind art piece by designer/artist Frederick Cooper of Chicago. The details are hard to photograph because of how stunning they are in person. Comes with original extremely high quality Frederick Cooper lamp shade as well. 5.5 Wide at Base. 12 Diameter Lamp shade. The item pictured is not a stock photo. Photos presented are the exact item you will receive. In 1923, Frederick Cooper, a Chicago artist, established a studio to create beautiful sculpture and watercolor paintings. American architecture was in its heyday in the Windy City. Cooper was drawn to the still fairly new invention of lamps. Through mixing the media of brass, fabric, glass and wood, Cooper created exquisitely designed lamps that matched the swift innovation in American architecture. This heritage carries on today, with designs that are at the forefront of style and fashion. We create the most artistic designs, using exquisite materials and superior craftsmanship. This is a super super cool and hard to find and signed Galle style reverse painted lamp. Measuring a whopping 36 inches tall with the shade 16.5 inches wide, this is a large large lamp. Please see photo of comparison size in the listing of a standard size table lamp. Both the base and shade are without issue which means zero damage of any kind, and with the thickness of the glass it is sure to stay that way with proper care. It lights up way way better then i could photograph. The coloration in the paint is superb and without any paint loss or sickness. The lamp is in fine working order and has been recently rewired with a period appropriate cloth cord and matching plug. The arms that support the shade are very strong and have their original patina throughout with no breakage to the metalwork to speak of. All in all a super cool and not commonly seen by any stretch, reverse painted lamp ready for your home. Please Check out my other items!
