Womens Clothing & Accessories. VTG Art Deco Lamp Desk Set of Chrome/Brass/Glass c. 1925 France -Rohde Deskey Era. Dating to the mid 1920’s, this elegantly styled French desk set clearly illustrates the influence of European design on American designers such as Gilbert Rohde and Donald Deskey. This avante minimalist desk set speaks volumes in style. Few examples of this caliber survive. The shade arm is able to tilt forward or backward by loosening then tightening the retaining knob. The brass shade also rotates with the arms in order to direct light. The two inkwells have pivoting lids. The set sits on a beveled black onyx glass base approximately 3/8 thick. This lamp has been restored and refurbished and is in excellent working order. All external metal components have been professionally re-plated with contrasting brass and triple chrome finish. The original light bulb sockets have been replaced with high end vintage style porcelain sockets. Original pushbutton switch has been refurbished with one of vintage brass and is in excellent working order. Wiring has been replaced with new period reproduction rayon covered twist style cord and appointed with a new reproduction vintage bakelite style plug. This lamp utilizes two candelabra base light bulbs (not included). Approximate dimensions are as follows. Arm Width: 15.5. Base: 13 Wide X. NOTE: There are a few imperfections worth noting. Small chips on back corner inkwell glass and glass base. Small dent on back of arm on one side. One end of the shade has been re-welded and is not perfect.
